Welcome to Steyning & District

Explore the beautiful towns & villages of Steyning, Bramber, Upper Beeding, Ashurst and Wiston, in the heart of the South Downs.

The buzz is back!  After a long winter of close-down, all our Steyning & District local shops are now open for business again.

Visit Steyning

From Monday April 12th 2021, Steyning & District non-essential shops are open for business again, along with the food shops who have continued to serve the community tirelessly through this winter lockdown.   Our usual happy, market town atmosphere has returned in bucket loads and all are looking forward to welcoming you back.

Market town shopping is the best there is, with so many open spaces, shops, churches, historic buildings and even access to the South Downs National Park, Steyning has it all for a safe day out!

Steyning and the surrounding villages are nestled in a stunning area of West Sussex, 10 miles from Brighton, 4 miles from the coast and in the heart of the South Downs.

Visitors can wander through the picturesque historic high streets to explore independent shops, stop to have a drink or bite to eat, or wander further onto the South Downs Way

With accommodation ranging from boutique bed & breakfasts, self catering cottages or apartments, come and sample some of the tastiest award-winning restaurants, cafes and bars in the Southeast. We’re waiting for you

A Celebration of Walking

In another strange year, our envisaged Walking Festival format has yet again had to adapt. Guided walks still prove a challenge, so we are now set to offer a raft of different non-guided trails for you to enjoy on your own - a celebration of walking. Link to be added here soon to take you to our website pages with more detail and where you can download routes throughout the coming year. Sorry to keep you waiting - it will be worth it !
